Memorial Day is just around the corner, and I'd like to share my own little labor of love with you. As many of you know, my son has been in the Marine Corps for nearly two years now. As all military parents are, we are extremely proud of our son for choosing to serve his country. This past November, he married his high school sweetheart, so it's been a year of changes. Here he is bringing his honey roses for no good reason other than ... just because.
When someone you know and love so completely joins the military, you become more aware of all things military. I created my Memorial Day resource to honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice by educating children about the meaning of Memorial Day.
This Memorial Day, take a moment from your busy day to say a prayer for the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. I, personally, live with a constant lump in my throat knowing that my son is only a deployment away from danger. I pray for his and his comrades' safety multiple times a day.
