1stgradefireworks...Easter Egg HFW

Happy Thursday!
Hi, everyone!
I am Wendy McCarty from 1stgradefireworks.
Before we go on to our Tipster Thursday...a little about me.

I have a wonderful hubby (my highschool sweetheart) of 33 years!
We have 4 children...twin boys, a middle-child boy, and a girl!
We have 4 grandchildren..and give LOTS of TUMMY TICKLES!
One of our sons is a teacher ( I know...) ,
one is in law enforcement and is hubby/daddy to 3 of the little ones,
one is in the US NAVY and is single daddy of a 3yr old,
and daughter is a sonogram tech at local hospital..
AND...she is getting married in MAY!
( We are up to our eyeballs in wedding plans!)

OK...enough about me.
If you want to see more about me..
stop by and say HI!

My TIP for this TIPSTER THURSDAY
 is about
 High Frequency Words.
It's SPRING!
Easter Weekend, to be precise.
What first grade student doesn't LOVE to play with ...
EGGS!
Yes....colorful...plastic...in a basket...EASTER EGGS!
But, in our classroom...
Eggs are a Center. A Literacy Center.
I took the litle eggs,
made a copy of the HFW page ( see FREEBIE at end of POST),
and put them in a cutesie basket!
The kids take an egg, open it, read the word, & write it on their whiteboard.
If you want them to write in their
WORD WORK journal, they can!
I am into the least amount of paper...the better!
And then...we clean up and play again!

Here is a FREEBIE to make the HFW cards.
I didn't laminate them, just fold & go!

Hoppy EASTER!

  1. What a fun word work activity. I'm definitely stocking up on plastic eggs this year!
